Following more than a year of Fire Paintings, my newest work, Extreme Weather, was a natural lead in from the wildfires. To start with, I based this series on my interpretations of photographs from National Geographic Magazine of Volcanoes and Thunderstorms. More like landscape painting than my figurative work, the images felt very powerful but also strange without human presence. For me these works represent Mother Nature’s fury at the imbalance caused by human indifference and greed.
